Land acknowledgement
I am of European lineage, and am therefore a descendant of colonizers.
I acknowledge the trauma that colonization has caused and still causes.
It is of utmost importance to me to live in a way that supports, nurtures, and values native wisdom, as well as acknowledges and uplifts the voices of those who have historically been silenced, and who have had unspeakable horrors occur. This trauma runs deep, has been imprinted on the fabric of space and time, and will never be truly forgotten.
This trauma lives on in Indigenous, Black, Latinx, and Asian bodies.
My mission is to support those with all kinds of trauma – and ancestral, lineage-based trauma is very real.
I honor the land I live on and the Sho-Ka-Wa people who have stewarded it throughout generations.
